Rubbish piles up on the streets of Mexico City

The streets of Mexico City are littered with rubbish.

Since Bordo Poniente - one of the world's largest landfill sites - was closed last month, the question of how to dispose of the city's rubbish has become extremely problematic.

The site was closed due to major air and water pollution issues, but the alternative waste disposal sites have been dismissed as inadequate.
