Russia's Space Industry: What you need to know
Russia has experienced several high-profile space failures in the past year.
In August the unmanned Progress cargo ship bound for the International Space Station crashed in Siberia.
The country also lost three communication satellites and now its space agency says that its unsuccessful Mars probe, Phobos-Grunt, will crash back to earth sometime in January.
