How to roll the perfect Cuban cigar

The halls of Havana's Palacio de Convenciones have been filled with smoke this week, as hundreds of delegates to the annual Habanos cigar festival have hit the town.

On Friday, the culmination of events was a glitzy gala dinner and a humidor auction that traditionally raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for Cuba's health ministry.

A variety of activities are on offer to the mixed crowd of enthusiasts and traders, including lessons in the art of hand cigar-rolling.

It traditionally takes a roller, or "torcedor" nine months to hone their skills, but Sarah Rainsford was given one intense lesson by long-time rolling-master Arnaldo Ovalle.
