Guatemalan ex-soldier given 6,060 years for 1982 massacre
A former soldier has been sentenced by a court in Guatemala to 6,060 years in prison for his role in a massacre of 201 people during the country's civil war.
Pedro Pimentel Rios denied being part of the 1982 attack on the village of Dos Erres which was suspected of sheltering left-wing guerrillas.
Nearly a quarter of a million people were killed in Guatemala's civil war which ran from 1960 to 1996.
