Bars and restaurants are booming in Brazilian favelas

In the past, some favelas in Rio de Janeiro were dominated by drug dealers.

But after a police crackdown in 2008 a different picture is emerging. There seems to be a boom of bars and restaurants attracting local clients and even tourists.
