Cuba enjoys housing market boom after sale ban lifted

The buying and selling of houses was branded "speculation" and banned after the 1959 revolution.

The only way to move was to swap houses, severely restricting mobility.

But, in a popular move, the ban was lifted in 2011 as part of a raft of government reforms.

Since then property sales, and prices, have been rising steadily.
