Chavez suffering 'complications' following cancer operation
The President of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, is said to be suffering from "complications" brought on by a "severe lung infection" following his fourth operation in Cuba for cancer.
The 58-year-old is due to be sworn into office for a third term next week.
In an effort to head off mounting speculation that the President is close to death, Venezuela's information minister said a psychological war is being waged over Mr Chavez's health, designed to destabilise the country.
