UN 'refusing to obey the law' in Haiti

The UN must take responsibility for the cholera outbreak in Haiti which killed thousands of people if it wants it keep its credibility, the Institute for Justice & Democracy in Haiti has said.

Brian Concannon, director at the institute said "no one in Haiti will take the UN's sermons on the rule of law credibly when the UN itself is refusing to obey the law".

The United Nations has formally rejected compensation claims by victims of a cholera outbreak in Haiti that has killed almost 8,000 people.
