Pinochet casts shadow over Chile presidential election
Chile's presidential elections this year come exactly 40 years after the military coup which brought General Augusto Pinochet to power at the head of a military dictatorship that ruled the country for 18 years.
Both candidates in the current presidential election had fathers who were generals in the air force - one of whom remained loyal to President Salvador Allende after the 1973 coup, while the other sided with Pinochet's regime.
