The president of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, is coming under pressure as protests are expected over the government's handling of the unexplained death of the public prosecutor Alberto Nisman a month ago.

She has been criticised for what her opponents call a divisive and aggressive response to the crisis.

'Cristina', as she is colloquially called, is occasionally flamboyant and naturally politically combative.
