US swimmers: Rio police release petrol station CCTV

Footage has been released purportedly showing four US swimmers at a petrol station in Rio de Janeiro.

Police sources have told the BBC the athletes invented a story about a robbery to disguise an incident in which they broke a bathroom door there.

Four men can be seen attempting to leave the petrol station in a taxi, before getting back out of the vehicle. They are next seen sitting down on the ground in a line with their arms raised.

Three of the swimmers remain in Brazil and are due to be questioned by police.
