Tourism near the Gaza border to boost kibbutzim

Israel's kibbutzim have faced financial strains over the last few years.

With the global downturn, the declining price of farm produce and many young people leaving to look for other work, people living in these communal farms have had to become more resourceful.

At the Zikim Kibbutz, near Ashkelon in southern Israel, they have hit upon a novel idea - letting tourists come in to see what life is like living just a short distance from the Gaza border, under constant threat of rocket attack.
