Defiant Gaddafi appears on Libyan TV

Libyan leader Col Muammar Gaddafi has made his first public appearance since the international coalition began air strikes on his military bases.

Speaking in the capital Tripoli, he told his followers he won't be defeated. He warned that his enemies would be consigned to the "dustbin of history".

His typically defiant remarks came against a backdrop of continued discussions about who's in charge of the international military operation.
