'Fatalities' as protests spread in Syria

Reports say ten people have been killed in the southern Syrian city of Sanamen in clashes between protesters and security forces.

At least 20 people were also reported dead after armed men opened fire on anti-government demonstrators in the city of Deraa.

Amateur footage sent to the BBC reportedly shows pro-freedom rallies in Banias, Syria. Activists had called for nationwide marches against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
