Israel offers Gaza ceasefire

Israel says it is willing to observe a ceasefire after days of military exchanges in Gaza, if Palestinian militants there end rocket attacks.

Hamas, which runs Gaza, has responded by saying militants were not interested in escalation, and calm could be restored.

The Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned Hamas that if the attacks resumed, "Israel would respond with even more force".

The BBC's Jon Donnison asks if Hamas will be able enforce a ceasefire.
