Syria unrest: Forces launch Hama assault
The US and UK have condemned the Syrian government for its actions as its tanks and soldiers moved into the western city of Hama, killing at least 45 people.
Hama has been the scene of some of the biggest demonstrations against President Bashar al-Assad, and US officials have described his government's actions as "full-on warfare" against his people.
Foreign journalists are not allowed to move and report freely in Syria, so Jim Muir sent this report from Beirut in neighbouring Lebanon.
