Libya crisis: Rebels close in on Gaddafi stronghold
Libyan interim government forces surrounding the Gaddafi-held desert town of Bani Walid say talks loyalists there have failed.
They had said they hoped the town could be taken peacefully, but one anti-Gaddafi negotiator told the BBC civilians in the town could not move and he feared they would be shot or used as human shields.
The interim government says it is now sure Col Gaddafi's son, Khamis, has been killed.
Ian Pannell reports from just outside Bani Walid.
