Israeli soldier's father tells of fear for his son

The father of an Israeli soldier who is now due to be released says he is anxious to see his son after having no contact with him for more than five years.

Gilad Shalit was captured by Palestinian militants in a cross-border raid in 2006 and now a deal between Israel and Hamas to release him has been struck.

Around 1,000 Palestinian prisoners will be freed in exchange.

Gilad Shalit's father Noam spoke to Radio 5 live Up All Night.
