The UK foreign secretary has said that the pressure on Iran "will only increase" if Tehran refuses to resume negotiations over its nuclear programme.

William Hague's comments came a day after EU ministers agreed fresh sanctions against Iran, including an oil embargo.

The EU currently buys about 20% of Iran's oil exports.
