Benjamin Netanyahu: 'Israel must be master of its fate'

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that, while Israel values its alliance with the US deeply, the country must remain the "master of its fate".

He said that Israel would reserve the right to defend itself where necessary.

Mr Netanyahu was speaking during a meeting with US President Obama at the White House to discuss their countries' shared concerns about Iran.

The US and Israel accuse Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons - though they have differed over how to respond.
