Syrian rebels claim 'scores dead' in Daraya massacre

Opposition activists in Syria claim scores of bodies have been found in a town near the capital Damascus and are accusing government troops of a "massacre".

The activists say many of the victims in the town of Darayya had been "summarily executed".

Without commenting on the claim, Syrian state TV said Darayya was being "purified of terrorist remnants".

The BBC's Barbara Plett says the rebels' claims cannot be independently verified but that footage allegedly showing the bodies has been posted online.
