Syria rebels claim they shot down helicopter in Damascus
Syrian state television has confirmed a military helicopter has come down near a mosque in the capital, Damascus, with rebels from the Free Syrian Army claiming they shot it down.
The Free Syrian Army said the aircraft had been firing at people in the north-eastern district of Jobar, and that it had crashed in neighbouring Qabun.
Meanwhile the French president Francois Hollande has called on the opposition in Syria to form a provisional government.
The BBC's Barbara Plett reports from Beirut in neighbouring Lebanon.
