Russian FM Sergei Lavrov meets with Syrian opposition

Russia's foreign minister has held his first direct talks with the head of Syria's main opposition coalition.

Sergei Lavrov and Moaz al-Khatib, who leads the Syrian National Coalition, met on the sidelines of an international security conference in Munich. Moscow is a long-standing ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Meanwhile the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has said that 114 people, including 46 civilians, were killed in fighting in Syria on Saturday.
