Syria crisis: Assad accuses neighbours of "helping terrorists"

Syrian president Bashar al Assad has accused the country's neighbours of "helping terrorists" and prolonging the conflict, in an interview for Turkish television.

Mr Assad accused the Turkish government directly, saying they harboured terrorists and sent them into Syria.

He also claimed that the Arab League had "lost legitimacy", weeks after they allowed Syria's opposition National Coalition to take the country's official seat at a meeting in Doha.
