Iran election: Hassan Rouhani 'has early lead'

Votes are being counted in Iran, where people have been choosing a successor to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Results so far show the reformist candidate Hassan Rouhani with a significant early lead in the presidential race.

Some 50 million Iranians were eligible to vote.
