Iraq tension raises civil war fear

More than 1,000 people died in attacks across Iraq during July, making it the bloodiest month in years and prompting concerns that the country is heading for civil war.

While relationships between Sunni and Shia Muslims have improved, Sunnis accuse Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's Shia-led government of marginalising them, rekindling tension.
