Tariq Ramadan: 'Egypt is returning to a Mubarak era'

Professor Tariq Ramadan, a Muslim theologian, says Egypt is on the verge of returning to a Mubarak-style era.

"Mohamed Morsi is due to be charged with new accusations while Mubarak is going to be freed. This is something which is a coming back to a Mubarak's era."

Professor Ramadan, whose grandfather is one of the founding members of the Muslim Brotherhood, does not believe that its members are behind the recent attacks on Coptic churches.

"Burning of churches is something which could've been done by the intelligence. We have no proof that it is the Muslim Brotherhood who is doing this."

Mishal Husain spoke to Prof Ramadan on BBC World News.
