Hague on Syria: Assad regime has something to hide

UK Foreign Secretary William Hague has called for UN inspectors to be allowed immediate access to the site of an alleged chemicals weapons attack near the Syrian capital Damascus.

There has been no sign yet that Damascus will allow such a move, prompting Mr Hague to suggest that "it seems the Assad regime has something to hide".

Activists say hundreds died and unverified footage shows civilians - many of them children - dead or suffering from what appear to be horrific symptoms as a result of Wednesday's attack.
