Syria crisis: UN chief awaits full chemical weapons report

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon says he is awaiting a full report after chemical weapons inspectors spent three hours at the scene of a suspected poison gas attack on the outskirts of Syria's capital Damascus.

Earlier on Monday, the convoy of UN experts was forced to turn back after unidentified snipers opened fire with one vehicle shot at "multiple times".

He said: "They visited two hospitals, they interviewed witnesses, survivors and doctors, they also collected some samples."
