UN Syria envoy: 'This is unacceptable, outrageous'
The UN Syria envoy Lakhdar Brahimi has said any US military action taken in response to apparent chemical weapons attacks in Syria would need to be approved by the UN Security Council.
The Syrian government has denied it is responsible for the suspected chemical attack near Damascus on 21 August in which hundreds of people are reported to have died, blaming instead opposition figures.
Mr Brahimi said it did seem clear that some kind of substance was used that killed a lot of people.
