Syria crisis: Red Cross pleads for access to the suffering
The International Committee of the Red Cross has called for increased access to Syria in order to bring aid to those injured and displaced by the ongoing conflict.
Magne Barth, head of the ICRC's delegation in Syria, told the BBC's Jeremy Bowen that the agency was struggling to get in to many areas where "there is great suffering".
"We are not simply getting the permission the way we want it from the authorities to go in," he said.
