Assad's cousin: 'He is more worried of his inner circle'

Ribal Al-Assad, who is the first cousin of Syria's President Bashar Al-Assad, says he believes the leader is more worried about being assassinated by his inner circle than about a military strike against his regime.

President Assad has warned that the US would "pay the price" for any strike against Syria.

Ribal Al-Assad is a long-time critic of his cousin and says he was "catapulted" to power and is "not really in control", because he inherited people in his regime from his father and brother.
