Syria conflict: Chemical weapons experts cross border

A team tasked with dismantling Syria's stockpile of chemical weapons has crossed the border into the country.

The mission, set up after a US-Russia deal was endorsed by the UN Security Council, will verify the country's identified chemical sites, before destroying the equipment used to create the toxins, as well as the munitions used to deliver them.

It is the first time the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has been asked to destroy a country's chemical arms during the ongoing civil war.
