Egypt unrest: 'We can smell the tear gas' - BBC

Clashes have erupted between supporters of Egypt's ousted President Mohammed Morsi, opponents and security forces in the capital, Cairo, and Alexandria.

The BBC's Quentin Sommerville said that he had heard gunfire coming from multiple locations, and could smell tear gas from his vantage point in central Cairo.
