Ban Ki-moon: 'Intensive and urgent' Syria talks under way

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said "intensive and urgent discussions" are under way over the Syria peace conference scheduled to start in Switzerland later this week.

Syria's Western-backed opposition has threatened to pull out of the talks after the UN invited Iran to take part.
