Tony Blair on the challenges facing the Syria peace conference

International peace talks to address Syria's civil war have opened at Montreux in Switzerland, with bitter exchanges between government and opposition representatives.

Former British Prime Minister and Quartet Representative to the Middle East, Tony Blair, is in Davos at the World Economic Forum.

He said: "The question is, how do you persuade both sides that there isn't going to be a military solution?"

"The only way to stop the disintegration of the country is to come to some form of fair agreement."
