Egypt torture claims: 'Good and fair treatment' in prisons - minister

Electrocutions, brutal beatings and sexual abuse are taking place in detention centres in Egypt and teenage children are among the victims, according to testimonies gathered by the BBC.

The accounts cannot be independently verified, but human rights campaigners have told the BBC that there is systematic torture in detention.

But the military-backed government has denied the claims.

General Abu Bakr Abdel Karim is the Assistant Minister for Human Rights at Egypt's Interior Ministry.
