Iraq elections: Security tight amid vote

People in Iraq have been voting in all but one of the country's provinces in the first parliamentary elections since the withdrawal of US forces in 2011.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is hoping to win a third term in office amid a growing insurgency in the west of the country.

The BBC's Quentin Sommerville said it took "an act of courage" to vote as about 12 people had been killed on polling day alone.
