Gaza conflict: Anger at scene of Hamas rocket attack in Ashdod

Israel has resumed its air strikes on Hamas-controlled Gaza, after its brief ceasefire was met with continuing rocket fire.

Israel had accepted an Egyptian truce proposal on Tuesday morning. But the Israel Defense Forces said around 50 rockets were fired into the country from Gaza during the six hours it had halted air strikes.

Senior Hamas spokesman Osama Hamdan told the BBC it had only heard about the truce initiative through the media and that a ceasefire could not be put in place without the details of any agreement being known.

James Reynolds reports from the scene of a rocket attack in Ashdod, in southern Israel.
