Kobane: IS militants 'push back forcefully' in border town

The UN special envoy to Syria has warned that up to 700 people, mainly elderly, are still trapped in the Syrian border town of Kobane.

IS militants trying to take the town have regained ground after reports on Thursday suggested US-led air strikes on the town seemed to have stalled their advance.

Kobane has been a major battleground for IS and the Kurds for three weeks.
