Battle for Kobane: 'Peshmerga generate hope for Kurds'

Intensive fighting is continuing in the Syrian city of Kobane which is under siege by Islamic State militants.

Reporting from the nearby Turkish border as explosions went off, Jiyar Gol said he had been told there was no electricity in the city and food was being smuggled in.

The arrival of Iraqi Kurd Peshmerga fighters had "generated hope in the Kurdish community", he added.
