Syria: New opportunity to resolve crisis - UN Envoy
The UN's special envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, has told the BBC he believes there is a new opportunity to resolve the Syrian crisis.
In an exclusive interview with the BBC after his meeting with the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Mr de Mistura said the government was considering very seriously his new plan for a freeze in the violence which would start in the divided city of Aleppo where the army is now encircling the last rebel held areas.
He spoke to the BBC's chief international correspondent Lyse Doucet during a visit to the devastated Old City of Homs.
