Iraqi troops force IS militants from key sites in Tikrit

Iraqi government forces have been advancing into Tikrit, forcing Islamic State (IS) militants to fall back to the city centre, officials say.

It is the biggest offensive against IS mounted by the government since the jihadist group's rise last June.
