Syria: IS fighters attack Kobane

Fighters from the so-called Islamic State have launched an attack on the Kurdish town of Kobane, on the border between Syria and Turkey.

Suicide bombers were used in the assault and there are reports that at least 30 civilians have been killed.

In January, Kurdish forces backed by US-led airstrikes scored a major victory by winning the battle for Kobane against IS.
