US plans in Syria criticised by rebel fighters
The American plan to build a moderate armed opposition to take on Islamic State in Syria has been severely criticised by the only group of rebel fighters to be trained under its new programme.
Speaking exclusively to the BBC, Capt Ammar al Wawi said the US and its allies failed to protect and support his men after deploying them into Syria last week.
The fighters were immediately attacked. At least five were killed, more than 10 were abducted and many are still stranded inside the country.
