Al-Jazeera trial: Amal Clooney urges pardon for journalists

The lawyer for one of three al-Jazeera journalists sentenced to three years in prison in Egypt has called on President al-Sisi to pardon the men.

Amal Clooney, who represents Canadian-Egyptian Mohamed Fahmy, said such a move would mean it would be recognised that the journalists "did not commit a crime".

She told the BBC's Lyse Doucet there were two ways Egypt could free her client, but a pardon would be the best option.
