Dr Muhammad Darwi describes his life in Madaya, Syria, as more aid arrives

A doctor has described seeing up to 200 cases of malnutrition a day in the city of Madaya, in Syria, which is under siege.

Dr Muhammad Darwi said: "We have a medical crew of 10 people to treat 30,000 to 35,000 people in Madaya, so we are in hospital 24 hours a day... We sometimes go for a whole day or even two without any food. Sometimes we live by drinking salted water, water with some herbs in it, water with grass, or we soak tree leaves in water."

He said aid was now reaching them, but they wanted more.
