Iraqi forces meet fierce resistance from IS in Falluja

Iraqi forces are continuing the second day of their assault to retake the city of Falluja from the so-called Islamic State group.

The latest reports are that IS militants are putting up fierce resistance.

There are great fears for the safety of thousands of civilians who remain trapped inside the city.
