Syria ceasefire: Russian officers caught in firefight near Aleppo

Two Russian military officers have come under fire as they described the truce in Syria to commanders at the Russian defence ministry.

On Tuesday the two officers were standing with Syrian government forces on the Castello Road, a key access route to the rebel-held eastern part of Aleppo that has been heavily contested.

As the firefight continued, senior military officer Viktor Poznikhir told them to take cover.

Russian forces are reported to be monitoring the cessation of hostilities along the road.
