Syria toy smuggler visits children from besieged town
Rami Adham, a Finnish-Syrian aid worker and father-of-six, has become known as the “Aleppo toy smuggler”.
He takes large sacks of toys across the mountainous border area between Turkey and Syria, as the official border is closed to most traffic, and distributes them to children.
He describes the moment on his latest trip when he visited children who had recently left the Damascus suburb of Darayya, where rebel fighters and civilians had been under government siege since 2012.
